In doing so we allow a story to unfold, taking care to respect\u00a0any details of the plot or the world\u00a0established by the other correspondent. We do not coordinate. In fact, we do not engage in <em>any<\/em>\u00a0outside discussion about how things might develop. The only givens at the outset were\u00a0the characters&#8217; names: Benjamin Rackham, written by Phil, and Eliot Crane, written by Nate.
